About the Role
We’re looking for a friendly, confident, and knowledgeable Lead Mahjong Instructor to join our team and help create a welcoming, fun, and elevated mahjong experience.
The Lead Instructor is responsible for independently leading mahjong classes, helping students build confidence in the game, and creating an environment where players of all ages and experience levels feel comfortable, connected, and excited to come back.
This is a great role for someone who loves mahjong, enjoys teaching and connecting with people, and understands that the best part of the game is the community built around the table.
What You'll Do

Lead beginner and intermediate mahjong classes in a fun, approachable, and organized manner

Teach American mahjong rules, terminology, gameplay, strategy, and etiquette

Help students understand the NMJL card and develop confidence reading and playing hands

Create an inclusive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes

Keep classes on schedule while maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere

Assist with private events, workshops, leagues, and special programming as needed

Represent the studio's brand and values both in and outside of the classroom

Welcome customers and provide knowledgeable, personalized assistance with mahjong tiles, mats, racks, cards, accessories, gifts, and other merchandise.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can teach the game, read the room, make people feel welcome, and create the kind of experience that makes students want to come back and play again. You don't have to be the most competitive person at the table - a strong understanding of mahjong rules and etiquette is what matters the most to us!
About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and personable Assistant Mahjong Instructor to help create a welcoming, fun, and supportive learning environment for our students.
The Assistant Instructor works alongside the Lead Instructor to support classes, help students during gameplay, and make sure everyone at the table feels comfortable and engaged.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves mahjong and wants to develop their teaching skills while becoming an important part of our studio community.
What You'll Do

Assist the Lead Instructor during mahjong classes and workshops

Support students as they learn rules, terminology, gameplay, and strategy

Provide one-on-one guidance and answer student questions during play

Help students read and understand the NMJL card

Help create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment

Process retail purchases and help customers select tiles, mats, racks, accessories and gifts.

You bring patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the table—and you understand that mahjong is about much more than the tiles.
